CAMPGROUNDS MAP
CEDARBROOK
RV PARK & CAMPGROUNDS:
30 peaceful acres in a picturesque rural setting.
The sparkling swimming pool is very tempting, there
are lots of fish in the lake (bass, bluegill and
catfish) just waiting to be caught, and a couple
of pedalboats and jonboat are available for your
boating pleasure.
NATIONAL
ROAD:
The south-central Illinois byway known as the historic
National Road has a longtime following: Midwest
pioneers traveled its path from one small town to
another. You can follow their legacy by heading
east from East St. Louis, following the well-marked
byway signs along a picturesque path of rolling
hills, rivers and Native American sites.
Continuing
east you'll pass through Highland, a once heavily
Swiss town that still boasts of alpine-style buildings,
and Greenville, a favorite for antique lovers, and
home to a fine collection of Richard Bock sculptures.
Bock worked with Frank Lloyd Wright for many years.
Nine
miles to the east of Cedarbrook is Vandalia, with
its blend of beautifully restored historical sites
and stately homes of the past. Vandalia is the oldest
existing capital city in Illinois, and served the
state from 1819-1839. Abraham Lincoln began his
political career there in 1834.
